The Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO) brings together talented young musicians from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Macao, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, all selected through a rigorous annual audition process.

More than 100 young AYO musicians deliver a stellar performance during the two concert nights on August 12 and 13 at the Ho Guom Opera House.

AYO features a unique model combining intensive training and international touring. Musicians spend three weeks rehearsing in Hong Kong followed by a three-week concert tour alongside acclaimed conductors and soloists, gaining both professional mastery and multicultural experience.

The orchestra has been honored with Japan's Praemium Imperiale Grant for Young Artists and the Nikkei Asia Prize, and was praised by the San Francisco Chronicle, a leading Northern California daily, as "one of the best youth orchestras in the world."

Since its debut in 1990, the Asian Youth Orchestra has given over 400 concerts to more than one million audience members worldwide, performing at many of the world's most prestigious venues.
