Malaysia among top investors in Vietnam
VOV.VN - Malaysian companies are the seventh leading source of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Vietnam, having cumulatively registered funding of US$13.5 billion in 523 ventures through 2015, reports the Foreign Investment Agency (FIA).
For 2015 the FIA said Malaysia’s independent power producer Teknik Janakuasa Sdn Bhd was licensed to develop a major coal-fired power plant in the southern Vietnamese province of Tra Vinh.
Samsung’s US$3 billion FDI funding of a screen making facility in the northern province of Bac Ninh was the largest FDI investment for 2015, resulting in the Republic of Korea becoming the largest investor for the year, said the FIA.
