Young firms in HCM City forge stronger links with Indonesian counterparts

VOV.VN - Vietnamese and Indonesian businesses must focus on moving ahead with post-COVID-19 economic recovery plans and support each other in multilateral co-operation as both countries strive to live safely alongside the pandemic, according to a Vietnamese official.

Do Viet Ha, chairman of the Union of Friendship Organizations in Ho Chi Minh City, made the statement at a conference held physically and virtually in HCM City on December 21 attracting the participation of researchers, economic experts, and young businesses of Vietnam and Indonesia.

Vietnam and Australia are important partners that enjoy many favourable conditions to strengthen economic and trading ties, he said.

The two countries applied similar measures during the COVID-19 fight, such as prioritising vaccinations and easing blockade depending on the level of threat in different regions, Ha noted.

Representatives of participating businesses shared experience in post-COVID-19 economic recovery and agreed to support each other in multilateral forums, including the Southeast Asian region (ASEAN), the World Trade Organization (WTO), and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement.

They examined measures to overcome difficulties during economic recovery, and strengthen co-operation in trade and investment, with a particular focus on young businesses.

The conference was one of the international economic co-operation activities jointly organised by the Union of Friendship Organizations in Ho Chi Minh City, diplomatic corps, and foreign business associations in order to boost trade and investment co-operation between Vietnam and international partners.
