Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade Dao Van Rot said six wind power projects in the province have been launched so far, including three that have officially been put into commercial operation with a combined capacity of 117MW.

Meanwhile, 15 solar power projects have been put into commercial operation with a total capacity of 1,063MW, he added.

However, due to overload, nine of the 15 solar power projects have had to reduce their output to ensure safety on the transmission lines.

To address the issue, General Director of Trung Nam Group Nguyen Tam Tien said his group has asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the provincial People’s Committee to approve investment to build a 500kV power transmission line in the province.

Director of the provincial Department of Science and Technology Le Kim Hung suggested the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education should ask the Government to issue a new decision replacing the previous one dated on April 11, 2017 on mechanisms to encourage the development of solar power projects.

Local people must also be kept informed about land clearance compensation and environmental issues related to energy projects, he added.
