Vietnamese food products raise profile in RoK market

VOV.VN - Twenty-eight Vietnamese food companies are taking part in in Seoul Food 2026, the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s largest annual food exhibition, held at the KINTEX exhibition from June 9-12, as part of one of Vietnam’s most important trade promotion activities in the market this year.

The event provides an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to promote their brands, expand partnerships and strengthen the position of Vietnamese food products in regional supply chains.

Vietnamese exhibitors are showcasing a wide range of products, including processed foods, processed fruits, functional foods, seasonings and beverages. Participating companies include Vinamilk, WestFood, TSFood, Nafoods Group, Bich Chi Food, DH Foods, WANA and DACE.

A notable feature of this year’s participation is the shift in market approach among Vietnamese businesses. While many previously focused on exporting raw materials or semi-processed products, an increasing number are investing in deep processing, improved packaging, brand development and compliance with international standards.

Many companies are presenting higher value-added products such as nutritional foods, organic foods, functional beverages, processed tropical fruit products, convenience foods and products tailored to modern consumer trends. Businesses are also placing greater emphasis on production technology, quality control and product traceability, factors that are particularly important in the RoK, where consumers increasingly prioritise food safety, health and sustainability.

Products with strong potential in the RoK market include processed fruits, fruit juices, coffee, cashew nuts, pepper, natural seasonings, processed seafood, nutritional foods and organic foods.

The growing popularity of Vietnamese culture and the rapid expansion of the Vietnamese community in the RoK have also helped raise awareness of Vietnamese food products. Many supermarket chains, convenience stores and major retailers in the RoK now distribute products from Vietnam, ranging from coffee and beverages to processed tropical agricultural products.

Through its business-to-business programmes, Vietnamese companies can meet importers, distributors, supermarket chains, retailers and major food groups in the RoK, helping them secure new orders while building long-term business partnerships.

Many Vietnamese companies have found long-term partners through previous editions of Seoul Food and subsequently expanded exports not only to the RoK but also to other markets. This underscores the growing importance of specialised trade promotion activities in strengthening international competitiveness.
