Vietnam, RoK to host business forum this week

VOV.VN - The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) are set to host the Vietnam-Korea Business Forum on July 8 via a video teleconference and livestream on YouTube.

Running with the theme of “Cooperation for a sustainable future,” the event aims to focus on information technology, electricity, renewable energy, education, and the development of smart cities.

This comes amid the Republic of Korea (RoK) consistently being one of the top investors and trade partners with the nation for several years.

Furthermore, the RoK represents the largest investor in the country, which now operates close to 9,000 FDI projects worth a total of US$70.4 billion, thereby accounting for 18.5% of the nation’s FDI inflows as of the end of 2020. It also makes up the third largest Vietnamese trade partner.

Moving forward, the forum is anticipated to provide Vietnamese firms, especially small- and medium-sized enterprises, the chance to explore and seek business opportunities in the Korean market.
