Vietnam Motor Show 2022 contributes to developing local automobile industry

The function was jointly held by the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) and Vietnam Association of Genuine Automobile Importers (VIVA).

As many as 120 car models, including several popular electric vehicle brands, were introduced as part of the occasion, including renowned makes such as Audi, Brabus, Honda, Jeep, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi Motors, Morgan, MG, RAM, Subaru, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Volvo.

Upon addressing the event, Brad Kelly, president of VAMA, emphasised that the Vietnam Motor Show 2022 has returned after two years of suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic on a larger scale, thereby offering consumers the chance to admire outstanding models featuring leading advanced technology. Indeed, the event provides people with the perfect opportunity to choose the right car for themselves.

Laurent Genet, representative of VIVA, said that through the event, foreign brands are hugely keen to bring high-quality products to meet the increasing expectations of customers, adding that the association has exerted great efforts to boost the future development of the automobile industry and the Vietnamese auto market.

As part of his opening speech at the show, Truong Thanh Hoai, director of the Department of Industry under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, stressed that the event meets the growing demands of consumers.

In addition, it creates opportunities for auto businesses to deeply participate in the global production chain, thereby contributing to the wider success of the country’s development strategy for the automobile industry moving forward, he noted.
