In his book, Jensen, a thought leader in the container shipping industry, wrote that global liner shipping is undergoing the largest transformation since the invention of the container itself, he added.
In the next six years, the marine shipping will change dramatically from what it has traditionally run, thousands of Vietnamese container and logistics firms will suffer substantial impacts, Duong said.
According to Nguyen Xuan Vinh, Managing Director of Marine Connections Vietnam JSC, sea transportation will continue its momentum as well as see fierce competition of large shipping firms in the world.
They will have to build larger ships which can load up more goods to reduce costs, he added.
Regarding the development trend of the container shipping by 2025, experts at the talk said that that shipping companies will join hands to pilot digitalised measures based on practical demands and operations of the market. In addition, automation will replace various positions in the office work.
