Turkey-invested baby diaper factory inaugurated in Binh Phuoc

VOV.VN - A baby diaper and tissue factory valued at US$250 million which has received investment from Hayat Kimya, a leading Turkish company in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry, has been inaugurated at the Becamex Binh Phuoc Industrial Park of Chon Thanh district.

The Turkey fully-invested project indicates the attractiveness of the nation as a foreign investment destination following the negative impacts caused by COVID-19 pandemic on production and supply chains globally.

According to the Turkish company, the factory which is a Molfix branded baby diaper manufacturer under the Hayat Vietnam Company of Turkish Hayat Group, is anticipated to take on the role of a production hub for Southeast Asia. Moving forward, Hayat Kimya is expected to export 40% of its output with an annual total export turnover of US$50 million to overseas markets such as Thailand and Malaysia.

At the inauguration ceremony held on March 20, Ugur Hasan Tahsin, vice president for Asia of Hayat Kimya, highly appreciated highway and railway projects being implemented and completed in the region, which connects Binh Phuoc province and Ho Chi Minh City. He stressed that synchronous investment in the social infrastructure of Binh Phuoc will contribute to the province becoming an attractive destination for foreign financiers.

Hayat Kimya has been operating in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry since 1987 and focuses on manufacturing hygiene, tissues, and home care products. Indeed, it boasts a number of well-established brands such as Bingo (detergents and home cleaning), Molfix (baby diapers), Molped (feminine care), Papia, Familia, and Focus (cleansing tissue), as well as Joly and Evony (adult diapers).

Hayat Kimya has enjoyed rapid growth over recent years, becoming a trendsetter and the world's fifth-largest branded baby diaper manufacturer with a capacity of 8.6 billion units per year. This is in addition to being the largest tissue manufacturer in the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Africa at 490,000 tonnes a year.
