Toyota Vietnam recalls Lexus NX350 due to parking brake problem
VOV.VN - Toyota Vietnam has announced it will recall the Lexus NX350 series imported and distributed in Vietnam due to possible parking brake failure.
Toyota Vietnam authorized Lexus Vietnam to implement the recall programme, starting on October 17, the automaker announced.
Japan-based Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) reported a total of 24 affected Lexus NX350 vehicles manufactured between November 29, 2021 and June 29, 2022 have been imported and distributed in Vietnam. \
According to the manufacturer, the problem with the model is that the skid control ECU that's part of the brake actuator assembly can falsely detect too much current going to the electronic parking brake actuator.
The system then enters a failsafe mode that prevents the driver from engaging or disengaging the parking brake. If this happens, the multi-information display shows the warning: "Parking Brake Malfunction, Visit Your Dealer."
Not having a functional parking brake is in violation of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard, so Toyota has to repair them.
To fix the problem, Toyota and Lexus dealers will update the software for the Skid Control ECU.
