Thailand unveils plans to acquire three local solar farms
VOV.VN - WHA Utilities and Power (WHAUP) of Thailand has revealed that it is in the process of acquiring three solar farms in Vietnam under its new asset acquisition plan, according to a report published by the Bangkok Post.
The Bangkok Post quoted Niphon Bundechanan, chief executive of WHAUP, as saying that the Thai firm has been approaching solar farm operators in the nation in order to negotiate deals with the aim of acquiring their facilities for operations with typical capacities ranging from 50 to 250 megawatts.
Bunderchanan did not disclose details regarding the ownership proportion of the new assets, revealing that his company plans to be either a majority shareholder or full owner, with the deals expected to be completed early next year.
With regard to the businesses that focus on water, WHAUP is planning the second-phase of its development of two tap-water supply facilities in Hanoi and in Cua Lo, this comes after the Thai firm acquired the two assets last year.
At present, WHAUP provides utilities under WHA Corp. and is Thailand’s largest industrial land developer and operator.
