Thai Ministry of Commerce to attract foreign rice buyers next week
The Ministry of Commerce is preparing to invite buyers and sellers of rice to a negotiating conference next week, while Hong Kong has agreed to purchase a total of 10,000 tons of jasmine rice from Thailand.
Her ministry also plans on inviting buyers from Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Iran to meet with Thai rice sellers next week to inspect the quality of rice to strengthen credibility.
Next week, her ministry will also welcome over 300 buyers of rice and cassava from 29 countries, 37 of whom are from Hong Kong. Thailand has also signed an agreement with Hong Kong to purchase 10,000 tons of jasmine rice,
100 tons of gaba rice, 600 tons of noodles and 400 tons of rice-berry rice. Thailand expects to export over 195,000 tons of rice to Hong Kong this year.
