TCC says Thai economy to grow in Q4

The Thai Chamber of Commerce expects the Thai economy to grow in the fourth quarter of the year, as the tourism and export sectors improve.

Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand Klin Sarasin said the Thai economy is showing signs of improvement, due to state investment projects, export growth, and the large number of tourist arrivals.

The Bank of Thailand will ensure the Thai baht does not appreciate further, to keep export growth stable. Klin said that these factors, coupled with the recent announcement on the general election, should lead to further economic expansion in accordance with the government forecast.

He added that consumer spending is expected to rise late this year, following the introduction of the social welfare card program.
