Retailers asked to put price tags on mourning clothes
The Thai Department of Internal Trade has asked retailers to put price tags on black and white clothes, to prevent them from taking advantage of grieving customers.
The department also asked customers to call the hotline 1569 should they see any retailer taking advantage of buyers.
Meanwhile, retailers have voiced concerns that they don’t have a big enough supply of mourning clothes to meet the current demand in the market. They have however ordered more of such clothing from factories in Pratunam.
At present, black and white t-shirts are sold at 150-250 baht. Thais are expected to wear them for at least a year.
