Retail petrol prices pass VND20,000/l mark following latest adjustment
VOV.VN - The retail price of petrol soared over VND250 per litre from 3 p.m. on September 10 after the latest adjustments made by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance.
Following the changes, the retail price of E5RON92 bio-fuel increased by VND252 to reach a maximum of VND20,143 per litre, while that of RON95-III rose VND266 to no more than VND21,397 per litre.
The prices of diesel 0.05S and kerosene went up VND355 and VND320 to reach VND16,022 and VND15,082 per litre, respectively, while that of mazut rose VND897 to VND15,952 per kilogram.
The two ministries have continued to make use of the Price Stabilisation Fund for RON95-III at VND150 per litre, diesel at VND200 per litre, kerosene at VND200 per litre, and mazut at VND100 per kilogram.
According to both ministries, the prices of petrol and oil in the global market have been fluctuating over the past 15 days, seeing a downward trajectory in early September due to the complicated nature of the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, the recent release of China’s positive economic indicators coupled with the impact of Hurricane Ida on the Gulf of Mexico have disrupted the United States’ supply sources of crude oil, thereby leading to an increase in the world’s gasoline prices.
