Promoting cooperation between Vietnamese, Austrian localities
VOV.VN - Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria Nguyen Trung Kien recently made a trip to Styria State where he had working sessions with local businesses to explore cooperation opportunities between Vietnamese and Austrian localities.
The ambassador visited Christof Industries Austria GmbH which specializes in mechanical and electrical assembly, I & C engineering, power plant engineering, mill installation and maintenance, as well as the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery.
Christof Industries executives said they wish to cooperate with Vietnam in the field of medical waste treatment and domestic waste recycling.
The diplomat also visited AVL List GmbH which is the world’s largest independent company for the development, simulation and testing of powertrain systems.
AVL opened a representative office in Hanoi in 2008 and has developed cooperation with the Vietnam Register, transport enterprises and universities in Vietnam. In the near future, the company wishes to expand cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of automobile, electric motorcycle and tractor manufacturing.
The Embassy held a round-table discussion with a number of local businesses in the fields of new generation batteries and battery recycling, packaging, health care, food processing, railways, and renewable energy.
The businesses highly appreciated the enforcement of EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), but agreed that businesses of the two countries need to work harder to effectively take advantage of the EVFTA.
They also proposed that Vietnam soon ease travel restrictions and simplify immigration procedures, making it easier for Austrian businesses to return and work in the country.
