Petrol prices record second consecutive increase
VOV.VN - Retail petrol prices climbed to reach a new peak as of 3 p.m. on January 3, with this coming following the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance adjusting prices upwards for the second time in a row in early 2023.
The price of E5 RON92 duly went up by VND330 to a maximum of VND21,350 per litre, while that of RON95-III rose by VND350 to be sold at no more than VND22,150 per litre.
Furthermore, the ceiling price of diesel 0.05S remained unchanged, with the price set at no more than VND22,150 per litre.
Kerosene is to be sold at VND22,760 per litre, thereby representing rise of VND600 per litre.
Moreover, the price of mazut 180CST 3.5S inched up slightly by VND110 per kilogram to reach VND13,740 per kilogram.
The two ministries also decided to make use of VND605 per litre from the petrol price stabilisation fund for diesel 0.05S, with VND200 per litre being used for kerosene, as well as VND100 per kilogram being used for mazut 180CST 3.5S.
This comes as petrol prices were adjusted from midnight on January 1 due to a new environmental protection tax rate applied to petrol and oil for 2023.
The prices of E5 RON92 and RON95-III edged up by VND1,045 and VND1,100 to reach VND21,020 and VND21,807 per litre, respectively.
Simultaneously, the prices of diesel 0.05S and kerosene were capped at VND22,151 per litre and VND22,166 per litre, marking rises of VND550 and VND330 per litre, respectively. Elsewhere, Mazut 180CST 3.5S was sold at VND13,633, up VND770 per kilogram.
These prices include environmental protection tax and value-added tax.
