Mountainous locality ships first batch of Son Thuy longans to Europe
VOV.VN - The northern mountainous province of Hoa Binh held a ceremony on August 11 to export the first one tonne batch of Son Thuy longans to the EU market.
The event was jointly hosted by the Hoa Binh province’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with Kim Boi district’s People's Committee and FUSA Organic Agriculture Joint Stock Company.
Addressing the ceremony, Bui Van Khanh, head of the provincial administration, emphasised that Son Thuy longan products meet the strict technical requirements set in relation to farming techniques, thereby giving them the best chance possible to penetrate the demanding EU market.
Sharing this perspective, Nguyen Hong Yen, an official of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that local growers have closely abided by all stringent regulations on food safety and hygiene set by the EU market in 2019.
Moving forward, the Hoa Binh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and FUSA Organic Agriculture Joint Stock Company aim to export approximately 50 tonnes of longans during this year’s longan crop.
