MoIT announces review results on anti-evasion measures for imported sugar

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) on March 13 issued a decision on the results of its review regarding anti-evasion measures applied to certain cane sugar products imported from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, and Myanmar.

Based on the review, the MoIT has decided to impose anti-evasion measures on specific cane sugar products produced by Indonesia's PT Kebun Tebu Mas.

Previously, on August 1, 2022, the MoIT issued a decision to enforce trade remedy evasion measures against several cane sugar products imported from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, and Myanmar.

The review process began in September 2024 following a proposal submitted by the Vietnam Sugar Association in November 2023.

Throughout the investigation, the MoIT has strictly adhered to the provisions of the Law on Foreign Trade Management and other relevant regulations.
