Mega Us Expo 2022 connects Vietnam – RoK businesses

VOV.VN - Nearly 120 Korean innovative businesses will join their Vietnamese counterparts at Mega Us Expo 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City on September 21-22 to promote trade connectivity between the two countries’ business communities.

The information was unveiled by organisers of Vietnam and the Republic of Korea at a press briefing in Ho Chi Minh City on August 23.

Shim Jae Yoon, consul general of the Republic of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City, said through Mega Us Expo 2022, Korean and Vietnamese businesses will have more opportunities to exchange ideas, build trust and develop successful partnerships.

Both the RoK and Vietnam possess successful innovative startups, and the recent penetration of Korean startups such as Baemin and Toss into the Vietnamese market is a positive signal, he said, hoping businesses will together create new growth engines, contributing to elevating bilateral relations to new heights.

Vietnam and the RoK established diplomatic ties in 1992. Their two-way trade has since increased 160 times, from just US$500 million to US$80.7 billion last year. Both sides have set targets of raising their trade turnover to US$100 billion in 2023 and US$150 billion by 2030.

More than 650 products in the fields of cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, information technology, household appliances, food, complimentary foods will be introduced at Mega Us Expo 2022.

The event will be jointly organized by Jeonbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center (JBCCEI), Saigon Innovation Hub (SIHUB), Koretoviet exhibition centre, and JYGlobal Korea, to celebrate 30 years of diplomacy between Vietnam and the RoK.
