Maritime Bank operates normally, ensures liquidity

The Maritime Bank is operating as usual with ensured liquidity, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has confirmed.

The SBV issued a communiqué on August 15 in response to recent rumours regarding the Maritime Bank’s operations that worried depositors and clients.

The SBV affirmed that if any banks meet difficulties in liquidity, it will actively intervene to ensure their normal operations and the interests of clients and depositors in line with law.

Information about banks’ operations should be verified based on official announcements by authorities, the central bank said.

It also advised depositors not to do anything that could affect their interests while making transactions with credit institutions.
