Malaysia initiates anti-dumping probe into galvanized steel sheets from Vietnam
VOV.VN - The Malaysian Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) unveiled that it has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into galvanized steel sheets originating or imported from China, the Republic of Korea, and Vietnam, according to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV).
MITI launched the investigation following a petition filed by CSC Steel Sdn. Bhd., with February 6 set as the initiation date.
The investigation period spans from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024, while the injury period covers two phases: from October 1, 2021, to September 30, 2022, and from October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2023.
With the adoption of digital transformation in trade defense cases, the investigating agency will send emails to all relevant parties, requesting them to register for participation via the TRIMA system, according to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV).
To avoid being classified as uncooperative, which could result in unfavorable outcomes, businesses are urged to fully comply with the investigation process.
Manufacturers and exporters wishing to take part in the case must register on the TRIMA system no later than February 21.
In order to respond effectively, the TRAV has advised Vietnamese enterprises to thoroughly review the petition, complete the investigation questionnaire, and submit it to MITI within the required timeframe.
If necessary, businesses may also request an extension for submitting their questionnaire responses.
