International machinery tools and metalworking expo opens in HCM City
VOV.VN - METALEX Vietnam, an annual exhibition showcasing a range of machinery, tools and items from the metalworking industry, and the Supporting Industry Show 2022, kicked off on October 6 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The event witnessed the participation of more than 250 brands from 20 countries and territories globally, including Accretech, Epson, Mitutoyo, Takamaz, Yamaha, Hiwin, LKM, New Century, Delta, and Showadenki of India, along with firms from Germany, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Thailand.
Vietnamese mechanical processors were given the opportunity to meet foreign traders in order to gain greater insights into the various opportunities to export mechanical products to potential markets such as North America.
Vu Trong Tai, general director of RX Tradex Vietnam, said METALEX Vietnam 2022 is expected to introduce advanced technology solutions which will contribute to accelerating the Vietnamese manufacturing sector, as well as the latest trends in the global market.
Nobuyuki Matsumoto, chief representative of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO)'s Ho Chi Minh City office, revealed that there has been significant progress made in trade and investment co-operation between Vietnam and Japan over recent years.
According to JETRO's statistics, a total of 55.3% of surveyed Japanese enterprises have unveiled their plans aimed at expanding their business in the Vietnamese market over the next two years, the highest proportion throughout all of Southeast Asia.
Experts have assessed that Vietnam continues to be a safe destination for foreign investors due to its flexible economic policies and successful vaccination campaign. Simultaneously, the rapid recovery of the domestic market has greatly contributed to providing a solid basis for foreign enterprises to place their trust to invest in the country.
Business matchmaking events, technology showcases, seminars, and other activities will also be held during the course of the three-day event.
