Hoa Phat ships 35,000 tonnes of hot rolled steel coil to Italy

The first order of the year going to the European market opens up a large consumption market for Hoa Phat Group's products.

Tran Ngoc An, deputy head of the Sales Department of Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel Joint Stock Company, noted that the shipment features the steel mark SAE 1006, with the expected delivery date running sometime between February 15 and February 20.

Hoa Phat hot-rolled coil is manufactured on a modern European continuous-rolling casting line, thereby falling in line with strict global standards.

Products are used as raw materials for the production of steel pipes, roofing sheets, and other special products such as container shells.

With HRC products, Hoa Phat Group is currently giving maximum priority to the domestic market as a result of the nation still lacking millions of tonnes annually. This comes after Hoa Phat supplied 2.6 million tonnes of HRC steel to the market last year, of which the export volume accounted for less than 30,000 tonnes.

Currently, there are plenty of foreign customers who are keen to order HRC, but Hoa Phat has yet to meet all the requirements of the market.

This is also viewed as the driving force behind the Group accelerating the implementation of the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex project which primarily focuses on producing hot rolled coil with a capacity of 5.6 million tonnes per year.

Once completed, Hoa Phat's steel production capacity will reach roughly 14 million tonnes annually, including 8.6 million tonnes of HRC.
