Ho Chi Minh City, India bolster cooperation in information technology
VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City is ready to welcome Indian investors and foster a favorable business environment to drive breakthroughs in the information technology (IT) sector, heard a workshop held on February 27.

Speaking at the event, Vo Van Hoan, vice chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, affirmed the city's commitment to creating optimal conditions for Indian enterprises to collaborate and promote sustainable growth.
He expressed confidence that stronger ties between Indian businesses and Ho Chi Minh City would not only yield mutual benefits but also generate transformative and long-term value for the IT industry.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City is home to nearly 13% of the country’s digital technology firms, totaling over 33,000 businesses, and 11.6% of digital platform enterprises, with around 30,000 companies. The city also boasts a workforce of one million IT engineers, a factor highly valued by Indian firms exploring opportunities in Vietnam.
Amitabh Ray, technology president of the Indian Chamber of Commerce, stated that India is a global leader in IT services, while Vietnam, particularly Ho Chi Minh City is emerging as a key player in the semiconductor industry. This, he said, presents significant opportunities for cooperation in smart city development and semiconductor supply chains.
Experts at the workshop highlighted the vast potential for collaboration in various IT fields, especially artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and semiconductor technology.
