First batch of VinFast EVs touch down in California
VOV.VN - An initial batch of 999 electric vehicles (EV) of the VF8 model arrived at the port of Benicia in California on December 21, according to details given by Vietnamese EV maker VinFast.
The EVs belong to the VF8 City Edition line, a limited version which has been produced specifically for the United States with the aim of providing customers with experience of VinFast's high-quality products.
The EV firms has also officially completed procedures for sales in the US and will therefore hand over their products to customers this December.
Similar to the standard VF8 version, the VF8 City Edition is a platform that connects all aspects of life, including modern technology features with an advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and a package of smart services.
The VF8 City Edition will be covered by a 10-year warranty for the vehicle and a 10-year warranty for unlimited mileage on batteries, along with 24/7 roadside assistance breakdown service which will be valid throughout the warranty period.
Le Thi Thu Thuy, vice chairwoman of Vingroup and Global CEO of VinFast, underscored the importance of the event, noting that with the batch of 999 EVs of the VF8 City Edition, VinFast takes another major step forward in its mission of boosting global electrified mobility and delivering electrified means of transport to everyone.
VinFast has also received a certificate of conformity (COC) by the US Environmental Protection Agency in order to both import and circulate cars in the US and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Executive Order (EO) to deliver vehicles to customers in California and Washington DC.
Simultaneously, the VF8 has also successfully completed the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) tests in accordance with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) regulations.
