EVN strives to become major economic group by 2030
VOV.VN - The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) Group is poised to become a major economic group and will be able to boast sustainable and efficient operations moving forward, according to a strategy regarding its development towards 2030 and a vision ahead to 2045 as adopted by the Prime Minister.
The aim of the group is to earn annual operating profits while simultaneously developing State capital invested in EVN, along with its own capital channeled into other companies.
EVN is notable for being responsible for ensuring electricity supply and the building of smart power grids in an effective and concerted manner which are capable of interconnection.
Most notably, it must also guarantee a consistent power supply for residents in both remote and mountainous areas, as well as islands. The group has therefore been requested to complete its digital transformation by 2025.
Moving forward, another task which must be completed by that year is to raise its customer service quality to a level to ensure that it is on par with ASEAN’s top three countries (ASEAN-3), whilst maintaining that ranking until 2045.
As part of efforts to meet these targets, it will apply modern and environmentally-friendly technologies whilst promptly devising plans aimed at improving existing coal-fired power plants in order to meet environmental protection requirements in each specific period.
The group will also strive to improve its own science and technology capacity, technology transfer in the field, along with ramping up environmental protection efforts.
