Digital Industry and Trade Summit highlights supply chain digitalization and green growth
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) will convene the third Vietnam Digital Industry and Trade Summit 2025 on December 3 in Hanoi, focusing on three key priorities: full digitalization of production and trade supply chains, broad application of emerging technologies, and promotion of green transformation in energy, logistics, and e-commerce.
The annual event, organized by the E-Commerce and Digital Economy Agency (ECDEA) in coordination with relevant partners, aims to assess the digital progress across the industry and set strategic priorities for 2025-2030.
This year’s edition comes as Vietnam’s economy increasingly shifts toward technology- and innovation-driven growth, alongside mounting pressure for green transformation, urging industry players to accelerate digital adoption, optimize supply chains, and strengthen competitiveness in global markets.
Nguyen Thuy Anh, Deputy Head of the Digital Transformation Department at ECDEA, emphasized that the 2025 program is more focused than previous years, highlighting practical implementation of technology-driven growth models. Key topics include smart manufacturing digitalization, power sector data management, energy efficiency optimization, green logistics, and technology-enabled e-commerce market expansion.
Under the theme “Dual Transformation: Digitalizing Supply Chains – Greening Growth”, the summit will target three major areas: comprehensive digitalization across production and trade supply chains; adoption of advanced technologies such as AI, big data, IoT, and cloud computing; and green transformation in energy, logistics, and e-commerce.
It will open with an ECDEA report on the current status and orientation of digital and green transformation in the industry through 2030, accompanied by presentations from local authorities, research institutions, and tech firms on regional digital economy development, technology-driven production and energy optimization, and cybersecurity in the AI era. These analyses will provide a holistic view of the dual transformation journey, spanning central and local levels, from large enterprises to small and medium-sized producers and traders.
According to ECDEA representatives, 2025 marks a critical point for the industry to advance dual transformation, with supply chain digitalization identified as the central axis. Enterprises are expected to shift from fragmented practices to data-driven, automated, and digitally connected operations in line with green standards.
“The summit offers a platform for MoIT and businesses to explore practical solutions, particularly technology applications for process optimization, emission reduction, and enhanced supply chain transparency. These are essential for deeper participation in international markets,” ECDEA noted.
The program will also allocate significant time to professional discussions on smart factory models, production innovation, product traceability and identification, e-commerce data analysis, cross-border e-commerce, and green logistics.
These topics reflect the real-world challenges faced by enterprises: cost optimization, operational efficiency, supply chain transparency, and emission reduction in logistics.
Le Thi Nga, Director of Social Commerce & Shipping at Sapo Technology JSC, highlighted that most retail, e-commerce, and manufacturing firms struggle with fragmented data, inaccurate inventory, rising logistics costs, and increasing pressure to meet green standards.
Sapo also stressed that while enterprises can invest in multiple sales channels, expansion is difficult without fully digitalized operational platforms. Requirements such as data transparency, product traceability, and optimized delivery routes compel firms to modernize their supply chains.
“The forum’s focus on dual transformation, digitalization and greening, directly aligns with current business trends, as companies gradually move from manual operations to data-driven and automated processes,” Nga said.
In addition to workshops, the forum will feature a technology and digital solutions exhibition showcasing platforms and products for industry, energy, e-commerce, logistics, and enterprise management. The exhibition space is expected to provide an interactive experience, enabling enterprises and local authorities to explore the latest digital transformation models and opening up plenty of opportunities for collaboration with solution providers.
The 2025 Digital Transformation Forum promises to remain a key milestone in promoting Vietnam’s digital economy, marking a new step in integrating technological innovation with sustainable development.
