Conference enhances Vietnam - RoK business connectivity
VOV.VN - The northern province of Thai Binh hosted a conference on July 6 as part of efforts to strengthen connectivity and investment co-operation between Vietnamese enterprises and those from the Republic of Korea (RoK).
Addressing the event, Nguyen Khac Dinh, vice chairman of the National Assembly, underscored the importance of the function in attracting more financiers from the RoK to the locality and celebrating 30 years of the Vietnam – RoK diplomatic relations.
Dinh emphasised that Vietnam has developed into the RoK’s fourth largest trading partner, while the RoK is also the country’s third largest trading partner.
He added that the RoK has retained its position as the largest foreign investor in Vietnam, and the second largest provider of official development assistance (ODA) for the country.
Nguyen Khac Than, chairman of the Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee, noted apart from similarities in culture, Thai Binh and Gyongsangbuk province first established friendly co-operative relations in 2017, and both sides also inked a co-operation agreement on recruiting seasonal labour in the agricultural sector.
With advantages in terms of transport infrastructure, industrial parks, transparent business climate, and workforce, there will be a wealth of investment opportunities for Korean investors in the locality, he affirmed. .
Currently, investors in the RoK have injected US$128 million in 26 projects across the country.
At the event, the Thai Binh Provincial administration granted an investment license to the RoK’s SMT Co., LTD, and signed a number of agreements with RoK firms.
