VOV.VN - Canada's Premium Food and Consumer Goods Week officially opened on April 28 in Ho Chi Minh City with the theme "Culinary quintessence of Canada - Canadian Delicacies".

Addressing the event, Behzad Babakhani, consul general of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasised that the annual event provides a good opportunity for Vietnamese consumers to enjoy high-quality Canadian products at a preferential price thanks to the tariff reduction under the terms of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
This year also marks the first time that Lotte Mart, one of Asia's leading retailers, have promoted the event.
In his remarks, Cho Young Jun, general director of LOTTE Mart Vietnam, said many products of Canadian origin have been imported into Vietnam over recent years, and LOTTE Mart is proud to have engaged in distributing these products.
LOTTE Mart Vietnam is willing to participate in networking events and promotional schemes aimed at introducing Canadian goods to Vietnamese consumers in future, he stressed.
The highlight of this year's show is the participation of numerous representatives from local authorities in Canada, including those from British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, and other associations.
Promotional programmes will take place in several major cities across the country with the involvement of several supermarket chains, convenience store chains, BBQ restaurants, as well as chef associations in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City
The event is scheduled to run until May 4.
