Best-selling items during Vu Lan Festival

VOV.VN - Fruits, flowers, joss paper, votive objects, vegetarian food, and Buddhist clothing,  just to name a few, are best-selling products during Vu Lan (Parents' Day) and Xa Toi Vong Nhan (Wandering Soul’s Day) festival.

Vu Lan festival is held in the 7th lunar month which is believed to be the month of ghosts and spirits. The Vietnamese considers it an occasion for family gathering as well as expressing love and gratitude to ancestor and parents. 

The most popular offering is votive objects and joss paper.

Fingered citron or Buddha’s hand is the best-selling fruit.

Birds, fishes, frogs, crabs and snails are sold here for the Tsethar (animal release) ceremony.
