Belarus, Kyrgyzstan adopt EAEU – Vietnam trade deal

VOV.VN - On May 25, the House of Representatives of Belarus and Kyrgyzstan’s National Assembly approved the Fee Trade Agreement (FTA) between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Vietnam.

Belarusian First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Aleksandr Mikhnevich said the trade deal will step up bilateral cooperation with Vietnam, helping Belarus’ products muscle it way into the country- a gateway to the Southeast Asian market, Russian news agency TASS reported.

The pact would facilitate local goods penetrating the Vietnamese market, the Kazakhstan Government said.

The EAEU, which groups Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, signed the FTA with Vietnam in May 2015. This was the first FTA signed between the EAEU and a non-block partner.

The deal is expected to raise trade between Vietnam and the EAEU to US$ 10 billion in 2020 from the current level of US$4 billion.

Earlier, Russia and Kazakhstan ratified the trade pact, lifting most tariffs on goods traded among its participants.
