Bamboo Airways proposes increasing aircraft fleet to 100

Bamboo Airways JSC, operating as Bamboo Airways, is a Vietnamese leisure airline that is owned by the FLC Group. It suggested that it adjust its own investment capital from VND5.7 trillion to VND14.8 trillion and increase its 29-place fleet to 100 jets by 2028.

The airline said such an increase is urgent as it will meet the increasing demand for air travel at present and sharpen the airline's overall competitiveness.

If the plan is approved by the Prime Minister, Bamboo Airways will continue to be the airline that records the fastest growth rate of fleets among Vietnamese airlines.

The Ministry of Transport rejected Bamboo Airways’ similar request in August 2021.

Early this year the budget airline deployed regular international routes linking Hanoi (Vietnam) and Narita (Japan), Taipei (Taiwan - China), and Incheon (the Republic of Korea).

It is scheduled to soon conduct flights on routes such as Hanoi-Frankfurt (Germany), Ho Chi Minh City - Melbourne (Australia), and Hanoi – London (the UK). It will also run direct flights to the United States in the future.

For the Southeast Asian market, Bamboo Airways plans to operate flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Singapore and Thailand, starting from March.
