Australians taste Vietnamese processed jackfruit products
VOV.VN - Australian firm VINREC is purchasing and processing approximately 1,000 tonnes of Vietnamese jackfruit into 200 tonnes of frozen jackfruit products for export to its market, according to the Vietnamese Trade Office in Australia.
About 30 tonnes of frozen jackfruit products with the brand name VINRECT-HT have been processed and are now being distributed for sale in Australia, said Nguyen Phu Hoa, head of the Vietnamese Trade Office.
Vietnamese businesses will purchase and process the remaining amount for export under a contract signed with VINREC, thanhnien.vn reported.
Australia is a jackfruit growing country, but frozen and processed Vietnamese jackfruit has been listed by the Trade Office as a key export item over the past two years.
VINREC has agreed to set up a large warehouse and complete infrastructure in Australia. At the same time, it has developed a complete purchasing process, aiming to make jackfruit become one of its key agricultural products.
Hoa said the Trade Office will continue to introduce Vietnamese jackfruit into the supermarket system, popularize the product on social media, and organize online exhibitions on farm produce, including jackfruit.
