Argentine press spotlights Vietnam’s circular economy development strategy
VOV.VN - Argentine newspaper Resumen Latinoamericano recently published an article praising the Vietnamese Party and State's approach to circular economy development in support of sustainable growth.
The article emphasizes that the circular economy is one of Vietnam’s top development priorities for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision toward 2045. This strategy is designed to achieve waste management goals, promote efficient resource use, protect the environment, prevent natural disasters, and respond to climate change.
The newspaper notes that Vietnam is actively carrying out its circular economy plan to drive innovation, enhance labor productivity, and foster new value chains. Circular economy principles have been integrated into various national and local strategies, programs, projects, and development plans.
Resumen Latinoamericano highlights the draft national action plan on circular economy, developed by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and submitted to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for approval. The plan focuses on key sectors with high potential, including transportation, agriculture, construction, waste management, industry, and chemicals.
In conclusion, the newspaper cites Ramla Khalidi, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Vietnam Resident Representative, who calls on the country to prioritize agriculture, electronics, plastics, garments and textiles, and construction materials.
UNDP pledges to support Vietnam in meeting international standards and unlocking new opportunities for sustainable growth.
