Aerospace component factory enters operation in Da Nang

VOV.VN - The KP Aerospace Vietnam company of the Republic of Korea (RoK) officially inaugurated a factory at the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park after 10 months of construction, marking the second aerospace industry project to be launched in the central city.

The facility, which was built with an investment of US$20 million, will produce, process, and assemble aircraft parts, including auxiliary engine doors, wing boxes, gliders, and left-wing support systems specifically for Boeing 787 and Boeing 737 Max aircraft.

This marks the second investment project in aviation and aerospace technologies to take place at the park following the Da Nang Sunshine Aerospace under the Universal Alloy Corporation of the United States which was put into operation in 2020.

Jihoon Park, manager of KP Aerospace Vietnam, said the factory will be filled with aircraft parts for export, adding that it will have all of the necessary facilities to build huge aircraft parts in Da Nang.

“We will be dedicated to the sustainable growth of our aerospace business, and building an aerospace cluster in Da Nang Hi-Tech Park,” he stated.

Tran Chi Cuong, vice chairman of the Da Nang city People's Committee, said that the inauguration of the KP Vina Aerospace Component Manufacturing Factory is a significant milestone, not only for the company's development, but also for the overall economic growth of Da Nang and Da Nang Hi-Tech Park.

Da Nang pledges to create the most favourable conditions possible for investors, with KP Aerospace set to contribute to the sustainable development of the aerospace industry and positively impact the local economy, Cuong added.

Meanwhile, Kang Boo Sung, consul general of the RoK in Da Nang, said the introduction of the factory would help to strengthen co-operation between the RoK and Da Nang in many sectors, including hi-tech industries.

KP Vina Aerospace factory is one of the key projects in the high-tech industry development strategy of Da Nang. The presence of this factory is a testament to the strong development of the central city as a high-tech hub, hosting a favourable environment for businesses to invest in advanced technology and component manufacturing, especially in the aviation industry.

With its experience and production capacity, this facility will not only contribute to improving the overall production capacity of aviation components, but also create many job opportunities, promote the development of supporting industries, and improve the skills of Da Nang's workforce.

The factory's operation will actively contribute to the city's socio-economic development, therefore creating the first foundation for the formation of an aerospace technology complex at the Da Nang High-Tech Park.
