Politburo appoints Police Party Central Committee

The Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam appointed the Central Committee of the Police's Party for the 2015-2020 tenure, naming Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong among them.

The Politburo’s decision was announced on September 21, with this a Party General Secretary has joined the Police’s Party Central Committee for the first time.

The Police’s Party Central Committee has 16 members, with its 7-member standing board including Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, State President Tran Dai Quang and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Addressing the ceremony, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong asked the Police’s Party Central Committee to work as a united group to exercise its leadership over every activity of the police.

Each member of the Committee should bravely tackle difficulties and challenges, stay tough, and be responsible, he said.

The Committee needs to improve its analysis, assessment and forecasting to identify threats to national security and advise the Party and State how to deal with them, he stressed.

He reminded the Committee to pay heed to reinforcing the Police Party Organisation and the police force in terms of leading and operating capacity.
