NA Standing Committee opens its 44th session
(VOV) - The 13th National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee convened for its 44th session in Hanoi on January 14 focusing on preparations for the elections of deputies for the 14th NA and the People's Councils at all levels in the 2016-2021 tenure.
In his speech, NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said the NA Standing Committee will consider the approval of the draft Resolution on the announcement of the Election Day for candidates for the 14th NA and the People's Councils in the next 5-year term and the draft Resolution guiding the implementation of the Law on the election of NA deputies and People's Councils.
Delegates will also discuss the proposed structure of and components relating to NA deputies and the number of members from socio-political organisations, the people's armed forces, and central and local state agencies to be candidates for NA deputies.
The top legislator noted that relevant agencies should work closely with each other to ensure the election successful.
During the three-day working session, the committee will give opinions on amendments to the revised Law on Signing, Joining and Implementing International Treaties, draft Law on Access to Information, revised draft Law on Import-Export Duties, and draft revised Law on Value Added Tax, Excise Tax and Tax Management to submit to the NA.
