Giving a boost to judicial reform

(VOV) - On January 9, the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform convened a meeting to review its performance in 2016 and set tasks for 2016.
In a speech, President Truong Tan Sang, who is also Head of the Committee, said judicial reform has been responded by local and central administrations and awareness about judicial rights and law-governed state have increased.
He urged the judicial sector to exert further efforts in 2016 because this will be the first year implementing the Resolution of the 12th Party Congress and expanding Vietnam’s international integration.
“In face of both challenges and opportunities in the next five years, the judicial sector needs to improve its performance to contribute to national growth. It’s necessary to strengthen judicial reforms to enhance the development of a socialist law-governed state," he said.

In addition to fine-tuning the Steering Committee for the next five years, the State President underlined the need to prepare for the institutionalization of the 2013 Constitution.
During 2015, the Steering Committee’s assisting units issued a number of documents to speed up the implementation of tasks assigned by the Steering Committee and the Standing office .
The agencies also conducted studies, assessed 17 projects and prepared briefs for the Standing office , supported the Steering Committee in building 20 reports and joined a number of scientific studies.
