Vietnam, Mozambique share interest in coastal transport

Vietnam and Mozambique share interest in developing coastal transport, thus liaison in the field is necessary, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said.

Receiving Mozambican Minister of Transport and Communications Carlos Mesquita in Hanoi on May 24, he spoke highly of transport and communications cooperation between the two countries, but stressed the outcomes still fell short of potential.

The PM suggested both sides complete negotiations and reports related to an agreement on air transport as soon as possible.

He expected more bilateral experience exchanges on traffic safety and human resources training will be carried out.

The PM also proposed further endorsement from both countries for the operation of Viettel, a Vietnamese-based military-run telecommunication group, in Mozambique.

He said he welcomes Vietnamese and Mozambican enterprises to form partnerships and transfer technologies in telecommunication.

Minister Carlos Mesquita thanked his host for the reception.

He said Mozambique will stimulate affiliations with Vietnam in transport and communications, as they are key sectors to the growth of his country.
