PM Phuc meets Boeing, HSBC leaders
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted separate receptions for Kevin McAllister, CEO and President at Boeing Commercial Airplanes Inc, and Mark Tucker, Group Chairman of the UK’s HSBC Holdings Plc in Hanoi on February 27.

The Vietnamese cabinet leader thanked Boeing for its long-term co-operation with Vietnam over recent years, especially providing technical support and maintenance for Vietnamese airlines to ensure flight safety and helping Vietnam Airlines open direct flights to the US.
McAllister said Boeing desires to cooperate with the country, not only in selling aircraft but also in technique, maintenance and airport infrastructure management.
He congratulated Vietnam on getting the US certificate to qualify its airlines to fly to the US.
The Vietnamese cabinet leader also highlighted Vietnam’s great demand for aviation development, saying the country wishes to purchase more new planes towards realizing the goal of welcoming 50 million international tourists per year.
He suggested both sides beef up collaboration to raise the prestige of Vietnamese carriers, while hoping that Boeing will help Vietnamese airlines in aircraft maintenance to ensure flight safety.
Vietnam wants to speed up the launch of direct flights to the US, thereby offering a good opportunity for co-operation and exchanges in tourism and study between the two nations, Phuc told his guest.
McAllister said Boeing is destined to expand the manufacturing of plane parts in Vietnam vowing to provide more support for the country.

Receiving Mark Tucker, Group Chairman of the UK’s HSBC Holdings Plc the same day, Phuc congratulated HSBC for its successful operations in Vietnam, which make significant contributions to the country’s economic development.
He assured the Vietnamese Government’s greater efforts to manage policies to ensure macroeconomic stability, especially monetary policy.
He also voiced his confidence that HSBC will develop new business areas in Vietnam and incentivize investors from the UK and other countries to increase their investments in the country.
