Party leader receives Russian Duma Chairman
(VOV) - Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia Naryshkin Sergey Evgenievich’s visit to Vietnam will mark a new development in relations between the two legislative bodies, said Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
At a meeting with Evgenievich in Hanoi on December 3, Trong recalled his recent visit to Russia at the invitation of President V. Putin, affirming that the successful visit will help deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
He hoped that bilateral relations between the Vietnam National Assembly (NA) and the State Duma will further be consolidated and flourished. For his part, Evgenievich spoke highly of Vietnam’s achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party and briefed the host on the results of talks and meetings with Vietnamese NA and Government leaders.
Strengthening and developing the comprehensive strategic partnership with Vietnam is unchanged priority of Russia’s foreign policy, he underscored, adding that Vietnam is a Russia’s trustful and close friend.
In the coming time, the two legislatures will continue boosting cooperation, especially in closely monitoring the reached agreements and exchanging legislative information and experience, Evgenievich stated.
