Zo In Sung and stars of Hope to visit Vietnam ahead of film release
VOV.VN - Korean actor Zo In Sung, alongside Hwang Jung Min, Hoyeon and director Na Hong Jin, will visit Ho Chi Minh City in early September to promote their new sci-fi film Hope.
According to the film's distributor, the director and three lead actors will attend special screenings at several cinemas and meet and interact with Vietnamese audiences on September 1-2.
The visit will give local audiences an opportunity to meet familiar names in Korean cinema and learn more about Hope, Na Hong Jin’s first film since The Wailing nearly a decade ago.
With Hope, Na Hong Jin is making his first foray into science fiction, combining action elements with an alien creature in the setting of a remote port town near the demilitarized zone.
Zo In Sung plays Sung Ki, a hunter and local fisherman who leads a group in pursuit of a mysterious creature as a series of unexplained incidents unfolds.
Hwang Jung Min portrays Bum Seok, the police chief of Hope Harbor. The role marks his second collaboration with Na Hong Jin after The Wailing.
Meanwhile, Hoyeon, widely known for her role in Squid Game, plays Sung Ae, a young police officer. The film marks her first major feature role. She also underwent physical and skills training to perform many of her own action scenes.
The film also stars international actors including Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander and Taylor Russell, bringing together a cast from Korean and Hollywood cinema.
Zo In Sung is one of the most familiar faces in Korean cinema and television to Vietnamese audiences. He is best known for his leading roles in the television series What Happened in Bali, which earned him awards at both the Baeksang Arts Awards and SBS Drama Awards, as well as That Winter, The Wind Blows and It's Okay, That's Love. His performance in the latter earned him the Daesang (Grand Prize), the highest honour at the APAN Star Awards.
In Vietnam, Hope will have special screenings from September 1-3 before its official release on September 4. The film will be available in IMAX, Ultra4DX, 4DX and ScreenX formats, as well as standard screenings.
