The event witnessed the participation of 114 films from 12 countries worldwide, including movies from Canada, France, Germany, the Republic of Korea, and the United States.
The organisers presented awards to various winners in 10 different categories, including documentaries, musicals, and short films.
Listeners-The Whispering tells the story of a psychologist named Tuong Minh who provides psychotherapy to An Nhien, a young female writer who suffers from anxiety disorder.
The Vietnamese film was directed by Khoa Nguyen and filming had initially started back in July 2020. It was originally planned to debut in March this year, but was postponed due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and has so far not premiered in any Vietnamese cinemas.
The latest recognition for the horror film comes after it won three awards during the Asia Film Art International Film Festival (AFAIFF) 2021 on July 5, including the awards for Best Actress, Special Mention Actor, and Special Mention Feature Film.
