Vietnamese photographers win places in Sony World Photography Awards
VOV.VN - Three local photographers were named among the Top 15 travel photographs in the open competition at the Sony World Photography Awards 2022.
A photograph depicting a flower street vendor taken by Nguyen Phuc Thanh was the winner in the travel category of the open competition, with the image being captured in November, 2021, at famous ceramic road in Hanoi.
Another local image snapped by Nguyen Huu Binh in December, 2021, was shortlisted in the travel category. It features the harvest season in My Hanh Bac commune of Duc Hoa district in Long An province.
A photo showcasing terraced fields shot by Hong Nguyen in Lao Cai province in May, 2021, was also shortlisted in the travel category.
The Sony World Photography Awards 2022 received over 170,000 entries from 100 countries globally in the open competition alone. Among them the top 15 pieces have been selected in the travel category, with Vietnam having three images in the Top 15.
The global photo competition is run by the World Photography Organization and has been ongoing for several years, garnering millions of submissions in the process.
