Vietnamese director’s "1982" selected for Busan International Film Festival 2026
VOV.VN - Vietnamese director Nguyen Hoang Diep's feature film 1982 has been selected for the Vision-Asia section at the 31st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).
According to trade publications Variety and ScreenDaily, 1982 is among 11 independent Asian films competing in the Vision-Asia category this year.
The narrative follows a filmmaker on a quest to locate her missing mother. Diep previously gained international acclaim with her debut feature, Flapping from the Middle of Nowhere, which won Best Film at the Venice International Film Critics' Week in 2014.
One of Asia's most prominent cinema events, the 31st edition of BIFF will take place from October 6 to 15 in Busan, the Republic of Korea (RoK).
