Vietnamese contestant secures Top 40 spot at Miss World 2026

Bao Ngoc achieved the result on the evening of August 27 at the Top Model competition, held as part of the 73rd Miss World pageant in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa. She topped the Asia and Oceania regional competition, beating contestants from Thailand, Cambodia, India and China in the final selection.

The three other continental Top Model winners were Tamunosoye Karibi-George of Nigeria, Indira Ampiot of France and Joheirry Mola of the Dominican Republic, all of whom also secured places in the Top 40.

So far 10 contestants have qualified for the Top 40, including representatives from Vietnam, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Nigeria, South Africa, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Bao Ngoc’s victory gives Vietnam an early place in the next stage of Miss World 2026, ahead of the September 5 final.

Earlier, her team won the Head Chef Beauty challenge, with Bao Ngoc taking part in presenting the team’s menu concept.

She also advanced through the group stage of the Head to Head Challenge, reaching the final five contestants from the Asia and Oceania region. During the challenge, she spoke about preserving cultural identity while integrating with the wider world and shared experiences related to Vietnamese culture.

In the talent competition, the Vietnamese representative also advanced to the Top 23 with a performance combining đàn đá (lithophone), singing and rap.

These results have kept Bao Ngoc among the contestants attracting attention as Miss World 2026 is entering its final stage.

Bao Ngoc, 25, stands at 1.86 metres tall and has body measurements of 87-63-98 cm. She was the first runner-up title at Miss World Vietnam 2022 and was later crowned Miss Intercontinental in Egypt later in the same year.

The girl impressed the media as she appeared in many predictions by global websites. In the latest leaderboard from the world’s prestigious website Missosology, Gabriela Botelho from Brazil is forecast to become the winner of the Miss World pageant this year.

The 73rd Miss World pageant is getting underway in Vietnam, with 111 contestants from countries and territories worldwide.

The contestants will next prepare for “Dances of the World – Hello Vietnam, Hello World,” on September 2 at April 2 Square in Nha Trang, followed by the Miss World 2026 grand finale at the same venue on September 5.
