Vietnam wins silver at international circus festival in Russia

VOV.VN - Phuong Nam Theatre, one of the leading private art troupes in Ho Chi Minh City, brought home one silver medal on September 17 at the "Without Borders" International Circus Festival held in Russia.

A circus act titled "Khoảnh khắc tình yêu" (Moment of love) by artists Thanh Hoa and Hien Phuoc left a positive impression on thousands of international spectators and won the hearts of the judge at the festival.

They ultimately won a silver medal, together with other two performances from Russia.

Three circus acts from Russia and China bagged gold medals. Meanwhile, performances by artists from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and hosts Russia claimed three bronze medals.

The second "Without Borders" International Circus Festival opened on September 15 in Russia's second-largest city St. Petersburg, seeing about 200 artists from Russia and abroad joining the event.

The festival is jointly organised by the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Russian State Circus Company. Teams from more than 10 countries and regions, including Russia, China, Mexico, Italy, and Ethiopia, used the event as a platform to conduct circus art exchanges.

The function lasted through to September 18, featuring over 30 circus acts of more than 200 artists from 16 countries worldwide such as Ethiopia, Germany, Italy, China, Mexico, Japan, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, and hosts Russia.
