Vietnam launches nationwide contest for APEC 2027 visual identity
VOV.VN - Vietnam has launched a nationwide competition to design the official logo and visual identity for APEC 2027, marking the beginning of preparations to promote the country's image ahead of one of its most significant multilateral diplomatic events in the coming years.
The launch ceremony was held in Hanoi on July 31 and jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Speaking at the event, Le Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Head of the Communications and Culture Subcommittee of the APEC 2027 National Committee, affirmed Vietnam's hosting of APEC 2027 carries special significance.
The decision reflects the confidence of APEC member economies in Vietnam and provides an opportunity for the country to reaffirm its growing role and contributions to economic cooperation and regional integration across the Asia-Pacific, she said.
According to Hang, APEC 2027 will provide an important platform for Vietnam to present itself to the international community as a peaceful, stable, dynamic and innovative country with a rich cultural heritage and a strong commitment to international integration for peace, cooperation and sustainable development.
She described the development of the event's logo and visual identity as one of the first and most important tasks in preparing for APEC 2027.
“A successful logo is more than an attractive design. It is the most concise visual language for telling Vietnam's story to the Asia-Pacific region and to the international community,” she stressed.
The winning design, in her view, should convey APEC's values of cooperation, connectivity, innovation and sustainable development, while reflecting Vietnam's cultural identity, development aspirations and vision for the future.
In his speech, Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Deputy Head of the Communications and Culture Subcommittee, said the ministry would organise a wide range of cultural and promotional activities alongside the development of the APEC 2027 visual identity.
These activities are expected to include art performances, exhibitions, film screenings, cultural heritage showcases, culinary promotion, tourism campaigns, media programs and other cultural events, giving international delegates opportunities to experience Vietnam's rich cultural heritage, creativity and vitality.
The initiatives are intended to help strengthen Vietnam's international image throughout the APEC Year, he stated.
According to organisers, the competition is open to Vietnamese organisations and individuals, as well as foreign nationals legally residing and working in Vietnam. Participants may submit an unlimited number of entries.
Design proposals should reflect APEC's core values of cooperation, resilience, economic integration and shared prosperity across the Asia-Pacific. They should also portray Vietnam as a country with a rich cultural identity, strong innovative capacity and growing aspirations in a new era of development.
