Trang Le appointed Italian culinary ambassador
VOV.VN - Le Thi Quynh Trang, chairwoman of Vietnam International Fashion Week (VIFW) and President of the Council of ASEAN Fashion Designers (CAFD), aka Trang Le, has been appointed culinary ambassador for the True Italian Taste 2021 project in Vietnam.
Following the appointment, Michele D'Ercole, president of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, said that he had previously co-operated with Trang Le through a number of different activities held by the Consul General of Italy in Vietnam. During these occasions, he had recognised that she was fully engaged and prepared to take on the position.
“We fully believe and hope Trang Le will better promote the True Italian Taste 2021 project in the near future,” says D’Ercole.
Prior to this, the chairwoman had been appointed Honorary Ambassador of Eurosphere.
After taking on her new role, Trang Le said she feels honoured to be selected to the position.
“For me, Italy is not only the cradle of human culture and civilization, but also a country of countless delicate beauties, from fashion, architecture to cuisine. I have had the opportunity to set foot in this country many times, very interested in Italian dishes. Hopefully, my love and culinary knowledge will help me better promote Italian cuisine to Vietnamese people in the near future,” she added.
Last April saw Trang Le become the first Vietnamese fashionista to be awarded the Knighthood of the Order of Merit of the Star of Italy for her contributions to promoting the relationship between Vietnam and Italy in the field of fashion.
The True Italian Taste 2021 project was originally initiated by Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is held by the Association of Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad in co-operation with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam. The purpose of the event is to enhance the popularity of authentic Italian agri-products.
Italy has ran "True Italian Taste" events in 40 countries and territories globally since 2016, first being held in Vietnam back in 2019.
Over the years, these events have been held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and featured a diverse range of activities, including workshops and seminars, incoming business and training seminars, master classes, and events promoting authentic Italian products to Vietnamese customers.
